ULSD & Diesel
Ultra-low sulphur diesel and gasoil for road transport, industry and power generation.
Product Overview
Diesel is a middle distillate used in compression-ignition engines. Ultra-low sulphur diesel (ULSD) combines low sulphur content with controlled ignition quality, lubricity and cold-weather performance. Gasoil grades serve a wider range of industrial and stationary applications.
Grades & Specification
EN 590 is a principal reference for European automotive diesel. Gasoil and other destination grades have their own specifications.
| Characteristic | Reference Basis | Product Relevance |
|---|---|---|
| Sulphur | 10 mg/kg maximum | Selected EN 590 automotive diesel reference. |
| Cetane Number | 51 minimum | Ignition quality for the EN 590 reference grade. |
| FAME Content | Up to 7% by volume | B7 reference; the contracted blend content is specified. |
| Density & Viscosity | Grade and climate class | Density at 15°C and viscosity at 40°C. |
| Cold-Flow Performance | Seasonal grade | CFPP and cloud point relate to the operating climate. |
| Fuel Cleanliness | Specified limits | Water, contamination, lubricity and oxidation stability. |
Selected reference characteristics, not a complete EN 590 specification. The agreed grade, standard edition and batch certificate govern each supply.
Performance Across Operating Conditions
Sulphur content is one part of diesel quality. Ignition performance, fuel-system protection and cold-flow behaviour are equally relevant. A summer diesel grade and a winter grade can have different low-temperature and density requirements.
